Seguindo as postagens dos vídeos do meu recital de formatura, agora o quarteto de saxofones, Suíte Recife.

A paisagem musical urbana de Recife mistura, da periferia aos bairros nobres, tradição e invenção de modos diversos e difusos. Em vias distintas, frevo, brega e mangue hoje se encontram na encruzilhada do carnaval e representam bem esse universo sonoro atual. A partir de pequenos excertos de um frevo tradicional, duas canções de Reginaldo Rossi e duas de Chico Science, Suíte Recife reinventa essa paisagem sob o olhar ao mesmo tempo distante e íntimo.

The urban landscape of Recife mixes, from suburban areas to noble neighborhoods, tradition and invention in a variety of approaches and styles. On the different paths, Frevo, Brega and Mangue (beat) meet each other on the crossroad of Recife’s carnival and represent well the actual popular sounding universe. From small (4 notes each) excerpts from a famous “frevo” (Vasssourinhas), from 2 songs of the most popular singer and songwriter of Brega style (Reginaldo Rossi) and from a small “riff” of a Chico Science‘s song, Suite Recife recreates that landscape under a very personal and both intime and apart regard.
